Land registry is wrong?

Hi everyone,

My father purchased a land in dehradun, uttarakhand and registered it in 1994. Now, when I saw the registry one day, the plot size was wrong.

plot size is less on the registry. Now, I want to correct the mistake.

Can I correct it? where to go to correct it?

I feel scared also that if I go to the govt. office and they impose fine on me for making wrong registry or register a case in court against me, what will I do?

can they do that?

I have two documents :- 1. Kisaan Bahi- it it the land is in hectares and it is correct.

2. Registry :- Here hectares are converted to square feets and the calculation is totally wrong.

I have "Khaata sankhya", "Khasra number" also.

help me please

thanks

File an application before the revenue authorities to rectify the mistake.  You need not to worry about fine, no fine will be levied on you.

Along with the application your produce the xerox copy of the sale deed to show that the measurement of the land.
