Leakage in flat

Hello Everyone,

I am from Mumbai, I am living with my family in SRA Society on 6th floor. The flat is in my father name.In our flat water leakage is coming from kitchen right side of the wall corner. We complaint so many times but society is not taking any action. Society is telling that 7th floor flat owner and we have to do expenses for that and solve this problem because it is not society problem because leakage is coming in flat.

We then also complaint to BMC on 25.08.2012 till date BMC has not taken any action. We are regularly paying society maintenance.

Builder already given possesstion certificate to the society.

Our kitchen damaged very badly as well as there is a chances to felldown fan.

Please guide us what we have to do to solve this water leakage problem.

if the problem is from interior i.e. inside the flat, then it is between the flat owners who have to do the needful and bear the expenses.

Society shall bear the expenses, if the damage is from outside wall.

Therefore, you and the th floor flat owner needs to jointly bear the expenses for getting the leakge repaired. further, its your property which is getting damaged. therefore, you need to look into it on priority basis.
