Maiden name

Hi ,

I got married last year. I have been using my maiden name in all my official documents till now. We have our marriage registered, so i have a certificate of marriage.  I want to retain my maiden name.

Now I want to get my passport made. I am now confused, whether I should use my Maiden name or my husbands name, I want it to be in my maiden name.

If I get this done in my maiden name, will it become a problem any time later for getting a VISA or are there any legal implications or a legal procedure to be followed for the same.

Plz guide.

No problem. Go ahead.  No legal compulsion to carry husband's or his family name after marriage.  You can continue to retain your maiden name.

you have the liberty to use maiden name or changed name after marriage. if any problem comes put the photocopy of the marriage registration certificate.
