Marriage in same gotra (sanskrit: गोत्र-refers to equivalent to lineage)

Dear Sir

Greetings for the day!

Although marriage in same gotra is declared legal by court, my query is as under, please

In Hindu religion/families marriage in same gotra is prohibited due to religious as well as scientific (To Avoid Medical Deformities) reasons.

In case a Hindu/Brahmin family members (married sisters) and relatives well known to these reasons, still agree/make ways to marry their financially insecure son/brother with a girl of same gotra through arrange marriage just to meet their vested interests (to get someone/bride to take care of their father suffering from terminal disease, as their mother was expired) and also kept son/brother in dark by providing only contextual/partial information which was not sufficient enough to know all about the bride's family (her father’s second wife with 3 children at marriageable age, staying at another place) that affected groom's life on emotional, social, community and family grounds.

Two months after marriage husband’s father/patient expired. Due to arguments/conflicts/ blame games majorly between husbands relatives (married sisters) and wife and due to stressful events wife gradually affected by depression, as suggested by mental health experts cognitive therapy sessions started, also during discussion on stress issue husbands relatives (sisters) got offended and relation became more bitter and Approx. after 5 years of marriage one manic episode happened and she was diagnosed having Bipolar Disorder.

And life after that became tough for husband with 4 year old child.

Husband’s family blame wife’s family saying she was already having such mental health issues and never ending blames game goes on.

What is the view point of law for such acts/conspiracy?

What is the scope to initiate legal proceedings against such conspirators ?

How to know if wife was having medical issues before marriage or developed due to issues after marriage?

Sincerely

This is a matter of following or observing due diligence before getting married to the opposite party.

Once you have married then you may have to look for alternate remedies to cure the defects including divorce.
