Do you agree that consent for marriage is a diferent thing than consent for other contracts ? I think, age of marriage provided under law is good for arrenged marriages. but when couples are marrying without consent of guardians, a higher marriagiable age should be prescribed. it can be about 25 years.

When the boy and girl are major, they no more need the consent of guardians.

But the age of minor under Guardianship act to declare him as major is 21.

I think the age for any marriage can be not less than 21 - inwhich the person can attain mental as well as physical maturity

Thank you friends ! May i emphasize here that this is a socio-legal question. The point of discussion is not that "what law is". Rather, we are examining the social justification of existing law and making suggestions as to "what law should be" !
