I wanted to ask a question about what can a wife do in the circumstances explained below.
If a man and his family conduct a marriage with a woman for their own benefit and have lied from the beginning, what can the woman do?
My friend had come from abroad and this man and his family brought a marriage proposal for her. After the families agreement and after the boy and girl met, they fixed the marriage and they got married.
However after the marriage due to the fact that my friend was fom abroad, they boy and his family showed interest in dowry and expensive gifts as well as forcing her to work and send money to her husband.
They has disputes and the man divorced my friend. This was because my friend found out that the man had an affair with another girls in his own town before marriage and he was not ready to marry her but he claimed that his family forced him to marry her because they wanted him to go abroad. He kept relationship with his extra affair even after marriage and used to meet her and call her.
My friend has proof about the man accepting that he did not treat her properly and had no interest in her because he loved someone else. He had cheated her and then after divorce they have kept harassing her till now. This was done by getting other people from his town to tease her and try to prove that she had an affair and not the man.
Can you please advise me if my friend can do anything against the boy and his family because they had cheated her into the marriage?
