The society that my friend lives in has added a huge penalty in his maintenance bill saying that he has mismanaged funds when he was Secretary. He complained with the Deputy District Registrar. So the Managing Committee send the General Body minutes where the resolution was passed to levy the charge. The fact is that when Minutes were passed this committee had lapsed the 5 year term and continued for another year. Will my friend have to go to co-op court / consumer cour or will the DDR be able to withdraw the illegal charges from his bill on grounds that the resolution is invaild. Preference being DDR as the matter will be handled faster.
