Mutal Settlement (self)     18 December 2013

Money extorsion

I got divorced this year by MCD in which I paid an alimony of 23 lakh + car + jewelry. I’m currently working abroad. My ex-wife she is currently working in Delhi and earning 7 lakhs per annum. She was also working at time of divorce which she didn’t declared on the divorce petition. Can I file a money extortion case against my ex-wife as she was working during divorce and still claimed for alimony ?

If she has lied to the court under oath that she is not working, and it can be proved false, then some case should have been filed in the court.

It is better to stay away from her after the court has severed all the ties between you both legally.  There is no provision to file a case as desired by you, because this is not an extortion, it is a settlement on the conditions agreed upon for alimony after divorce, hence legally no, try some other way.
