Need registrar's officer at society meeting

I have lost faith in Society Managing Committee. We have an old dispute and Society wants me to call a meeting to settle the matter. During the meetings whatever may be discussed is of no consequence because the Managing Committee creates Minutes best suiting them and full of lies.

In such situation can I ask the society to request the deputy registrar to send his officer to participate in the meeting ?

The minutes are to be prepared and signed by every office bearer that is present.  As you are also attending, you can prepare agenda, prepare your own minutes and insist for recording facts.  You may invite a neutral observer either from Govt dept or from other society or President of those society's association.

Sir,

You can put up your suggestions and complaints at the AGM in writing and take a receipt, and request the office bearers to include these in the minutes, and request a written response to the suggestions and/or solution of the complaints. If these are not included in minutes, then you can approach the Dy.Registrar of your area with the complaint.

Every member of a society has equal rights, irrespective of the area of his flat. Managing Comittee is elected for smooth running of the affairs of the society, election to the Managing Comittee does not confur extra power or rights to a member, if at all it confurs responsibilities for the smooth functioning of the society.

Good Luck,

Kishor Mehta

What type of society you are referring?

AGM of a Cooperative Society is supereme, discuss your issue in the AGM after convening as per Bye-laws/Society Rules/Act on the subject.

Registrar has no power to interfere in internal functioning of the society, whatsoever, except when it is reported by the specified quorum .

Are you member of Managing Committee of the Society?

Read Bye-laws/Rules and Act governing the society before asking any further query/question, consult a local lawyer practicing society cases.
