My wife holds a PAN card and she does not have any source of income. Still can I return a Nil Income Tax for 2010-11. for her.

Not necessary to file if she does not have any source of income.

holding PAN does not mean to elegible for filing his/her IT return.

you can file return if you wish, though it inot mandatory. Opt for efiling as the physical filing may not be accepted by staff.

Actually thats what I wanted really. As she does not have any income source still I want to submit Nil Return ..might it help me in future purpose. Thank you very much.

I think its beter to file return whether its Nil or not, as correctly siad by Mr. Subhakar Das that it ma yhelp in future and laso we have a record that we have submitted our return and were not involved in any kind of fraud in past.

REMEMBER WHAT IS NIL RETURN , NIL RETURN MEANS SOME SOURCE OF INCOME BELOW TAXABLE LIMIT .
