Notarised power of attorneys

Were notarised power of attorneys valid in UP in 2003 or before?  I had bought land from my brothers and got it mutated in my name using their notarised power of attorneys. Recently, I was told that registered POA isrequired. Can you please tell me whetehr my brothers can legally challenge the registry of the land that was carried out in 2003.

Regd. PIA is required for such transactions...... howvere, if the sale is challenged on the ground of withdrawal of POA, you can defend by relying recitals of regd sale deed wherein a mention was made regarding POA........... if the position is otherwise.....  full scope is there for challenge..

Thanks for you reply Sir. Will the suit now be barred by limitation as the registration was carried out in 2003.

Also I have possession of this land since 1987 and I am living there till date. I have also done some construction work on the land. Is that of any help to defend. Plz suggest.
