Notary need to see you by face, and identify you with your documents. Thus a social networoking site cannot help you.

about 12 years back, there was a case in Kerala, in which a Notary who attested a document in India, when the executor/ testant was at aborad, had been chargesheeted by the Police and said Advocate/ Notary committed suicide.

It is possible that, Gazetted Officers, Executive Magistrates etc also can do the same attesting work.
