Old tenents rights

Hi Mr Gunjan I hope you are doing well. We have a medical store which is on paghdi, it is with us since 1990. There are other three shopes under the same agreement. now we have made new furniture and forgot to tell to our owner now owner has came to us and asked that you didn't took our permission. Here my question is can Owner creates any legal problems to us? Also heard the roomer that he wants to sell this whole property to someone else who is like don , can it will be a problem for us? As we are regular payer of rent which is 300RS, we do receive the receipt of rent and property tax of the property with light and phone bill on our name. Thanks Ankit

You are tenant of the property and not the owner.  Therefore if your landlord is harassing you for not taking permission, you should pay him at least Rs.5000 to keep silent.  Otherwise If your landlord moves to court, you would have vacate your shop after 10 years as case goes to that period.  You are in fault so please take it seriously.

The owner cannot  force you to vacate or evict you in any manner that is illegal and unlawful, he can do so only through due process of law, let him file the eviction suit, you challenge the same with the available evidence in your possession.  Consult a local rent control lawyer.
