Out of court settlement process

My wife filed section 125 and I filed section 9 rcr. first hearing for section 125 is scheduled for 9th February monday. We have requested my in-laws for out of court settlement. My in laws wanted to know on what issues we are requesting out of court settlement. We told them the issues. What are the procedure for the settlement in legal ways? What comprises should I make? Will my in laws demand any money?
