Partition deed

Sir, For an undivided ancestral property, we want to go for a partition deed.

Can you let me know the requirements for getting a partition deed.  Does the Deed require any kind of legal heir certificate or succession certificate...???

What could be the charges/cost involved in getting it done..

Thank you

Yes. It is required. It is better to consult a good advocate in your location.

All family members may hold a meeting and have a healthy debate. Decide over the rights and obligations and prepare a "family arrangement" making clear provisions for each family member. This is one way duly recognized under the Hindu Law. It can be done on simple paper without any stamp duty and registration. At the most notary may be sufficient. However, now adyas, all would like to be secured. So, "partition deed" can be executed and registered. The stamp duty has to be paid depending upon the market value of the property. Once, the partition deed is registered, there may not be any "zanjat" in future.
