Powers of ssp against law?

Hello,

I got married in the year 2011 and later after the marriage i came to know that the girl is already married prior to marriage with me and without obtaining divorce from the court, the second marriage took place. At that time the girl was on a four month family way. Immediately when my in-laws came to know that I am aware of this face, they took the girl with them. they aborted the pragnancy. On this, i filed a police complaint against all of them which resulted into FIR u/s 494, 495, 420, 312 and 120B of IPC against girl & other four family members.
Now the challan has been moved to court and charges have been framed. At this stage SSP concerned is calling me to his office time & again threatening me dire consequences if compromise not took place between us. SSP is making preasure on me to withdraw the case and to compound the office. He is issuing me "Parwana" from his office to attend him. Now what I have to do? what are my legal rights here? how can i stop infringment of my rights by SSP?

File writthen complaint against SSP before the same judge where your hearing is going.

It appears the chargesheet is filed before the concerned CJM by the police in your case, if it is so then there is no question of legally calling you by the SSP. It will be better for you to approach the concerned court if the trial has started or you can approach the CJM of the concerned area with a written complaint. Apart from that you can also approach higher police official in the matter, and then also if the SSP calls you you can approach the Human Rights Commission of the State.
