Mr. X is a practising lawyer at Hyderabad having issued with the Sanad granted by Andhra Pradesh State Bar Council. He has now shifted his place of residence to Bangalore and intends to practice at Bangalore. Is it necessary to apply to Bar Council of India for transfer of Sanad from One State Bar Council to Aanother? I am told that in the recent, Hon'ble Supreme Court has stated that a lawyer can practice in any courts anywhere in India. There is no need to transfer the Sanad from one State to other. Please clarify with citation please.
