No, Obtaining probate in Pune city is not essential.Its necessary in Chennai.Kolkatta and Mumbai.

Probate is not necessary for property in Pune. But if there is a doubt or dispute regarding the will or ownership of the property or if a propective purchaser wants, you can obtain it by making an application to the appropriate court. You may contact a local lawyer for the purpose.
