Proceedings of hc/sc regarding attachment of property against missing persons

A person is missing since Aug 2016, and there was a case registered against him in year 2017 by mining department for non payment of tax. Yesterday on 13th Sep 2020, Police personnel came at his house for Attachment of properties and pasted the advertisement for the same. Is this legally valid that this procedure can be done and what can his family members do now. Is there any HC/SC ruling for this that Attachment Notice can be hold permanently.
