See the excellent Articles-Important-Judgments-on-Presumption-of-Service-by-Registered-Post, in the forum by Dr.Vaishta.Acknowledgement card is not a must, and this is provided in CPC itself in Order 5 Rule 9 sub Rule 5 itself. You may refer to the Supreme Court judgment reported in the case of Har Charan singh vs Shiv Rani AIR 1981 SC 1284, to make the provisions of Order 5 of the CPC very clear.

The tracking report from India post website can be downloaded.
RTI route is another perspective to get POD and certified copy of run sheet of postman.
Obtain from Sub-postmaster from which the cover was booked.

Thanks for replying.
Is there any way to change the respondent address after filing the case (in high court A.P.).
