Property

My father-in-law purchase property in 1978 and build 2 floors building in 1984 and in 2017 gift deed done to my wife (his daughter) and we demolished old building and started construction and from somewhere one person has sent a legal notice that the property is in the name of his grand father in old revenue records whereas we hv all the documents like mother deed,sale deed, A khatha and tax paid for last 30 years in BBMP records, power connection, water connection, kindly let me know hw to go about it.

Mutation is the change of title ownership from one person to another when the property is sold or transferred. By mutating a property, the new owner gets the property recorded on his name in the land revenue department and the government is able to charge property tax from the rightful owner. The documentation procedure and the fee payable vary from state to state.
