Cooperative Societies need to get the prior permission of the Registrar as per the cooperative societies Act for diversion of its funds other than the purposes mentioned in its bylaws

The purpose mentioned in the bylaws itself is Farming and name of the Society as registered with the Registrar of Co-op Societies is having the name XYZ Co-operative Farming Society Ltd.

Purchasing the Agricultural land is part and parcel of the main objectives of the said Society. AND conducting agriculture or horticulture on the same by its members is the purpose of this society.

Farming Cooperative societies were formed with the surplus land left over with the implementation of land ceiling Act, and the landless labourers were enrolled as members and allotted lands for farming operations. Purchase of land was not the object as per the bylaws of the tenant farming cooperatives.
