At the time of marriage father in law gave 250 grams gold to my wife.this gold items are with them ,they have not handover to me. XXX what precautions i should care? |
1. Deny any gold item ever given to wife brought to its 'trustees' special knowledge or have ever seen THAT MUCH with my devoted wife! No doubt they may swing purchase Bills worth Rs. 66 Lacs * but now the burden shifts on them.
2. "Precaution" stage are already over as DP Act clearly said way back since 1985 that such HUGE Items under stridhan given / taken should be as per List under its Rules. Your parents did not tell you about the Dowry Prohibition Act List as per Rules nor you cared before marriage to read about the Dowry Laws hence "precaution" stage is all over as per me.
Crude illustration:
Husband alleges consummation of marriage. Wife counters and says non-consummation of marriage. Now only “Uncle Tom may tell” from 4 corners of the bedroom to prove marriage consumed or not J
Same is the status your question l
* Calculated at base price of 10 gms. of gold in 2011 @ 26,400 X 250 gms. They say they given
= Rs. 66 Lacs!
