is it possible to do remarriage(after divorce) thru pheras or it has to be done in court only.i heard according to hindu law a girl can marry only once thru phera and second marriage(after divorce) has to be done in court only .else marriage may be considered void if challenged.

In the light of supreme court's observations, most of the states amended their marriage rules, making the registrationof marriage compulsory. It is always desirable to register the marriage, either it is first or second one.
