Right of path to access the property

my neighbour has 1.5 metre path to his house.Now he is demanding us for demolition of our fence and gave him 2 metre way so that a car can pass easily to his property.He is causing mental threat to us.since the neighbour has path (two wheeler access) to his property can he claim land for four wheeler access.what are the rules regarding the same

1. Yes. Neighbour is entitled to full carriage way to his property (which includes minimum 2 meters of passage), to his property, under the easement act.

but what about the financial losses incurring to me for demolition.construction of new fence.loss of property.loss of trees etc.

1. You are entitled to the actual expenditures, by way of amicable /mutual settlement between both the parties or via a Civil Court order.
