Rights of pension fund nominee vs legal hair

Hi Friends

If a person under Provident fund scheme has nominated somebody to receive the fund post to the death, I want to know that the amount will go to nominee or to All legal heirs.

Eg. Wife nominates only childs. Is husban also eligible to ge tthe money as legal heir.

The nominee is entitled for the funds after the death of the nominator. Legal heirs will come into picture if there is no nomination.

I disagree with the veiws expressed by Mr.bsrao. Nominee will be just acting as trustee for such amount. Only legal heirs will be entitled for that amount.

legal heirs have nothing to do in case of provident fund.

I will react further when you spell out which provident fund it is.
