It is better to consult and engage a local prudent lawyer for better appreciation of facts, professional advise and necessary proceeding if you are a sufferer.

If there is no offense committed by the hosts in making such marriage arrangements, the DM's action is not proper.  If there are violations of laid down directives during a pandemic endangering the lives of the public, DM has a right to interfere and can file such a criminal case.  If DM's conduct was rude, then the parties may bring such conduct of DM to the attention of the court.  It is ultimately the court that has to take action against DM if there is no provocation and challenge of his authority by hosts.

Sir, please understand, we are at no less than a war situation. In this situation when a patients are struggling to get beds in hospital, what you expect from the administration as this pandemic is infectious with no limits!

He should be suspended because he don't deserve this post

i think he shouldn't be suspended. In this critical time if he'll not act strictly then many of people do these violations. They also have alot of pressure. but i agree the way was not gentle. he should he little polite.

Yes, I have seen that video, most disgusting, he made the auspicious and most respected social marriage occasion mayhem, unpardonable, he cut the wedding card and permission papers into pieces, threatened all as Dacoit ARREST ARREST ARTEST .. what was he upto? There are certain laid down provisions how to handle any given situations but he behaved as wild beast.

a DM has to face both situation. if covid spreads in this marriage, public blame him that the DM did not interfere and he allowed such kind of functions in his district. His anger is right because he saw the hospital where people are dying helpless.

yes, that video was really shocking, its good that he raided that night and found out that covid protocols were not being followed but the way how he behaved and misused his powers was utmost very shameful on part of a public servant he must face the consequences because being in power does not give you the right to behave with someone like that instead he should have followed the law and sticked to the protocols rather than to become a dictator and the way he told the guy to not behave like a stupid uneducated villager just shows his mentality and thinking towards the society and also please tell him that crpc 354 assaulting against public servant and obstructing his work does not apply untill the guy actually do that, and it was clearly shown that he just asked a question nothing else. #lawshouldprevail

Firstly, the marriage was permitted upto 10 pm. It is likely that before acting rudely by the DM, his subordinates would have warned the people in the marriage place and when they didn't respond (being rich and elite people), the DM would have acted rudely and one should remember that during this pandemic we  must have to maintain social distancing and have to wear mask which was totally missing in the said marriage party.

Secondly, we should remember that the rules laid down are for our betterment but our ego hurts to follow them. We feel proud in breaking the rules. We are living in a country, where, in many places the traffic police has to be deployed at traffic signals. So, if the DM was acting rudely only because the people were not following the rules which was laid down to keep us safe. He was not doing so for his personal benefit. Ultimately we will be the sufferers.

So according to me two things has to be done :

Firstly, the DM should be awarded

Secondly, every person in the marriage party should be deployed at corona hospitals to serve the corona patients as a punishment.

short tempered people are not fit for the post of DM or commissioner. they should understand that the common man is above them... they are selected to serve the people...he sould have courteously asked all of them to leave by say half an hour... and should have also charged them under the relevant sections... but behaving like a goon is not good... and its the deficiency of their training at IAS training camps

The DM must be terminated rather suspension. This is gross violation of human rights. The cardinal principles of Criminal Jurisprudence is that no one allowed to take law in his own hand except procedure established by law. Punishment provision is there for wrongdoers. How can DM behave like this, which is not acceptable in civilized society. Training must be imparted to the DM.....No person has the right to humiliate others. Human being love his reputation, name, fame more than his life and love of reputation inspires him to do great things in life........ which is the main spring of life...
