Dear Sir,

I seek clarification from the experts, that I bought a house through Housing Borad in 1983, now I want to sell this property shoudl i take permission from my son to sell this property. He is a major and married man. Though I am clear that I dont need to consult him, still I need a expert advice from experts.  I dont want any dispute to arised in the future.

Thanks

The law on self acquired property is very clear. If it indeed is self acquired and no contrary documents exist that state otherwise, you are free to do whatever you wish to with it. No need to take any permission or consultation regarding the same..

Sir,

In my opinion the ownership deed to the property is imporant, if it stands in your single name you need not take anybody's permission. However, if it has your son's name in it then his permission is necessary.

I assumed the property is in the author's name..
