Whether the father is related or not is immaterial, UR motheR's sister's son falls under sapinda relationship. U say UR married, have U led marital life? But in southern states marriages are conducted with the same relationship though genetically not recommended

Converting to Islam or any other hreligion will not solve UR existing problem.Going against the elders will always have a bearing on UR future life. If U R already through marital life, the only option left for both of U is to get separated from the families and lead UR lives. (If UR confident that he will be with U for the rest of the life)
