Sec.509 IPC refers to insulting the modesty of woman by words, sounds/ gestures etc.
Punishment prescribed is Simple imprisonment for 3 years and fine. The said offence is a Bailable offence. The case can be compromised with consent of such woman who has filed case and with the court permission.
