While in a joint family, the Karta has a duty to incur expenses as per necessities peculiar to some individuals, and partition is possible only for those properties available for partition at the time of father. Contact a local advocate as one has to study facts and decide as to whether it is an intestate succession or family partition and how your brother has treated the income earned after securing such job and your maintenance, ages of co-parceners at that time, father's rights as Karta, objections raised if any during father's time, etc., (Religious ceremonies, hospitalization expenses, necessities etc., are treated always as joint responsibilities).
