settlement document typing mistake

Hello all,

My mother had a property and she gave a settlement of that property to me. The property as such is split into 5 parts (all of which are in the same place). In the settlement document there is one part of land of 840 sq. ft that is wrongly typed 480 sq ft and the same has been registered also. All the other parts of the document are correct.

Is there any way to change this? If so, kindly suggest.

That is a simple error that can be corrected, by correction deed.

Is ur mother alive? or Are u facing any other problem due to this?

For how much extent the stamp duty is paid. That is required. Suppose if you have paid the stam duty for the 840 sq.yds then there is no problem. Otherwise you have to get another settlement deed executed for the balance extent. Correction of extent cannot be made unless the stamp duty is paid for the whole extent.
