Hi All,
I am an NRI Staying in United States. Recently I have bought a Land at our home town. The land is for residential purpose (I mean not a farm land). The actual owner of the land is not much involved in the deal and remains passive and a local chota politican takes care of the deals.
A road is created in the middle of big plot connecting to the main road and the big plot is divided into small plots and are on either side of the new road. I bought one of those plots which is at the end of the road. While registering all the things are taken care and documentation is perfect. (Please find the pic below and green plot is the one we bought)
The problem now is, after I purchased this plot, the land rates have gone up and are almost doubled. So the politician comes to my parents and threatens them saying revert the transaction (he says they will pay the pirice we paid) or they will create trouble. He says since ours is the only plot sold, he is going to do something with the common road so that we will be having trouble. My parents are dead scared and I lost peace of mind.
Can somebody please tell me what kind of troubles can he cause and how should I proceed if there is a problem in this case.
As per the documents all the subplots will be having right to the road (including ours) and the documentation is also done well.
Please help with any information...
Thanks in advance,
Suresh.
