A partnership firm has now decided to wind up its business and sell all of the assets of the firm. For this purpose, two of the partners are to be vested with the authority for finalizing all matters relating to the sale, as the third partner lives outside India. The actual sale deed etc., will be signed by all the three partners. There will be no power of attorney issued.
The partners wish to amend the partnership deed to authorize the two partners to finalize all matters relating to the sale.
Will such amendment attract stamp duty in Maharashtra and if yes, what would be the amount?
