surname

my father writes his name k k gupta and my name is amit goel from starting in all certificates , does it matter  ..can there be any problem .is there any law etc..

No you will not face any problem. While your father write Gupta which shows your caste, you write goal which is your gotra.  In most Brahim/Guptra families such things happen.  There is no law at all. If you want to change your surname, you can do. By furnishing an affidavit and getting the same published in two daily newspapers, you can change your surname for future purposes. However, decision is yours.
