UN consulting and income tax?

Dear Experts,

Does one have to pay tax on consulting fee received from United Nations agency ? UN employees are exempted from the tax on their income, but what is the status of the consultants? The contract says tax laws of the particular country to be followed. Does income tax laws has any particular provision for the income received from UN?
