Use of cpc in rent control matters

Hello all,

I am contesting a matter under delhi rent control act. I let a room in the month of march 2008 and it has been occupied since.

I had filed eviction petition in the month of may 2009.The court had asked the respondents to deposit the rent in the month of july 2010.The respondents have managed to default in the payment of rent and have not paid the rent yet. The respondents have filed an application under order 6 rule 11 cpc.I have heard that cpc is not applicable in rent control. can anyone elaborate on this? Any judgements would be highly appreciated.

Thans all.

I think the application would be under O VI R 17 to amend the pleadings. It is maintainable.  Most of the provisions of CPC are applicable to Delhi Rent Control Act
