VALIDITY OF AGREEMENT

We have a business running for almost 3 decades. But in 2007 my fathers partner died. Now his legal heirs are trying to gain some wrong advantage and want to take share of my fathers personal properties.we had undergone(both my father's side and his deceased partners heirs)  an agreement in fabruary last year.both parties signed the agreement.we have worked according to that agreement but they have not and according to the agreement, they were supposed to transfer some land fully(which are now joint property of both sides),but they are now instead moved to court against us.

my questions are

1.can such an agreement written on normal paper and signed by both parties as well as with more than 5 witnesses is acceptable at court?

2.will their claim of share in our properties(like dumpers, excavators)  will be accepted?there are total 4 dumpers.3 is in our name, and 1 is in  partnrshp busins firm's name.excavators are in our name too.but in 1 excavator that deceased partner of my father is guarantar.
