Want to evict tenent

my father let out our house to a tenant.they have been living for more than 14 years.

now they are not evicting house and demanding for money. can they claim ownership of the house?

A tenant cannot claim ownership of the house however long may be his period of residence in the tenanted premises.

Agreed with Adv Archana, Also you may file eviction suit against the tenant if there is genuine need of the premises as per law.

The tenant cannot claim the ownership. Similarly, a tenant cannot deny the title. However, it is difficult to get the decree of eviction against the tenant, if there are no statutory grounds available with you. So tolerate. Or do as directed by the tenant to compromise and get him evicted.

Thank you all for your valuable opinions.Actually our house is in very dilapidated condition. we have filed a suit.

We have ground.my brother needs a place of storage for his business.
