I'm in the process of creating a will with the list of all assets in the schedule but I want to have an exhaustive clause to handle any future or residual assets not specifically mentioned in the will. Can something like below be a good option
I devise and bequeath to my son [name] any and all remaining assets in my estate, whether movable or immovable, wherever located, and whether now owned or hereafter acquired, including but not limited to the following:
-
- Real estate, including land, houses, plots, apartments, and commercial properties, including any share in jointly owned property, tenancy and leasehold rights;
- Vehicles, including cars, trucks, motorcycles, and any other transportation owned by me at the time of my death;
- Bank accounts, lockers, investments, fixed deposits, tax refunds and Demat accounts, including stocks, bonds, mutual funds, and other securities;
- Shares in companies or partnerships, life insurance policies, and any other financial instruments or contracts owned by me at the time of my death; and
- Business interests, including partnerships and sole proprietorships.
Furthermore, I hereby declare that any pending agreement of sale or purchase that I have entered into before my death shall be deemed an asset of my estate and shall be inherited by my son [name], who shall have the right to complete the transaction or receive the benefits thereof, subject to the terms of the agreement.
It is my intention that this provision includes any and all assets that I own at the time of my death that are not specifically bequeathed or devised in this Will. I direct that such assets shall be transferred to my son [name], to be distributed according to the provisions of this Will.
