Alternative Disputes Redressal Forum

A process, by which the dispute is settled with the indulgence of parties by themselves or through a third person or a person duly appointed by any competent court of law. Effected by theArbitration Act, 1940... and now with Arbitration and Conciliation Act 1996, the disputes are settled with the consent of parties. Lok Pal, Lok Adalat are some of the forums whichare constituted under the Act 1996

Thanks for the information. But what is the difference between mediation and ADR? Both one and the same?

Mediation is a form of Alternative Dispute Resolution, (ADR) like arbitration and conciliation. The term ADR denotes all forms of disputes resolution.
