Can i keep middle name initial in adhaar but expanded initial in passport ?

Hi,

We used initial in middle name in birth certificate  of my kid but we had to expand it during passport application as initial is not acceptable there. But I want to keep this initial in middle name for all other documents like Adhaar, pan etc for her. Can you please let me know whether it can create any issue in future or not ? What will be the solution in that case ?

My kid is infant now and there is no other documents except birth certificate (which has initial in middle name ) and passport (under process) .

The different names of the same person found in different documents pertaining to the same person will certainly create problems for him at later stage in future.

Both the names have to identical otherwise there will be an objection of authorities.

However, no legal issue is involved in present procedural query.

Such feature have been quite common in our country. In the absence of any law governing how a person ought to be named, different States and different communities have been following different norms; even each person has a choice in choosing his/her name. All these inconsistencies could be got remedied through a proper affidvit.

However, advent of digital platforms and the requirment of linking Aadhar with other documents have started creating problems. Basically, it is not the problem with authorities, but authorities allowing software to wiser than them and surrendering their discretion.

Yes, it is advisable to maintain uniformity or devise the uniformity based upon Aadhar.
