Forming non-profit voluntary organisation

We are a group of about 12 persons from Maharashtra. We have formed an informal voluntary non-profit association. We organise cancer awareness programs in surrounding rural/ semi urban areas. So far, we have been doing all the activities out of our own funds but now we have come across many people who wish to donate to the cause. But we do not have any bank account nor any formal registration. How do we go about it?

A non-profitable Organisation shall be registered under Soceitites Registration Act (Amendment Act of 35/2001). Not less than 7 members can form a society with certain non-profitable aims & objeccts.  for this purpose, Bye-laws may got be prepared with aims & objects (not less than five objects) and Rules and Regulations of the society.  in rules & regulations you may add one clause under Funds, donations like cash or kind and either movable or immovable.  and also it is posssible to open Bank Accoount in the name of the said Society with signatures of two Executive members mainly with Treasurer and president/secretary. the society shall be registered with the District Registrar of the district.
