Help needed to understand legal terminology

What is the meaning of SS to D1 and D3 placed exparte.

An EX PARTE decision is one decided by a JUDGE without requiring all of the parties to the controversy to be present.

Issue summons to deft no1& ss served to d3 but not present or not engaged advocate so placed ex party .

Is there any adverse effect for Deft 1 and 3 if this is the case.

The matter would be decided without hearing D3, unless the decision is got set aside. There is still time for D1 to make appearance.
