In India, the copyright protection for original literary, dramatic, musical, and artistic works is generally for the author's lifetime plus 60 years after the author's death.

This ensures that the creator's work is protected and that their heirs or assigned rights holders continue to benefit from it for a significant period

However, if a work is published anonymously or pseudonymously, the copyright lasts for 60 years from the beginning of the calendar year that follows the year of publication.

If the author's identity is revealed before the copyright expires, the copyright lasts for 60 years from the beginning of the calendar year that follows the year of the author's death

Copyright protection for a book generally lasts for the lifetime of the author plus an additional 60 years after their death, as per Indian copyright law. This means that the author's rights over the book are protected throughout their life, and even after they pass away, their heirs or estate can benefit from it for another 60 years. After this period, the work typically enters the public domain, allowing anyone to use it freely. Keep in mind that this applies to original works and may vary depending on the country and specific circumstances.
