How much dollars allowed on return to india

Dear Sir,

My brother is returning from kenya after 2 years of job in hotel industry on 20th.

he will be paid salary in cash in kenyan shilling which he will convert into shilling

How much dollars in cash is he allwed to carry back into India at delhi airport ?

there is not any minimum bar of transferring dalloras to india as long as you pay tax and transfer the money through legal process!

He got it duly done through western union. Although the charges were very high.
