Info regarding shop and establishent act

Hello,

           I stay in a rented house and my CA says he can register my company on shop and establishment act with my rent agreement.I wonder with out commercial property how can it be possible that a residential house can be registered under shop and establishment act.
I am planning to do e-commerce business.Also kindly let me know if service tax certificate and shop and establishment act is sufficient for openeing a current A/c or not.

Your landlord may not agree as it would attract additional charges for him. For example, Electricity is charged at a higher rate and once the premises comes under commercial usage, it is cumbursome for the landlord to revert back to residential rates. You can avoid placing a Name Board at the premises, but that may not be good for your business. Your landlord can evict you for using the premises for purposes other than residential.
