If it is LIC of India, file online RTI Application with RTI fee of Rs.10/ seeking the information as follows:  Please provide the conditions under which .....................Plan Annuity Policy can be surrendered when the annuity has commenced six months back for exigency like COVID when there is no income generation for the family.

Also, file online pgrms grievance to Ministry of finance /IRDI for directing Insurance companies for refunding of Annuity policy cancellation (or at least loan as followed in EPF) when there is no income generation for the policy holder' family due to Covid Pandemic. You have to post this as a grievance in pgrms online portal to both companies and this is free of cost and authorities must resolve the grievance maximum within 3 months.

If there is no provision for surrendering it as per your desire, then your claim may not be tenable in law even if you resort to legal course of action in this regard,

You can request. If not successful, the issue could be escalate further as there is a manifest deficiency of service on the part of the insurance provider.
