There appeared in a section of the press a Judgement in Punjab and Haryana High court in the of a case of Union of India vs. Ripudaman Kaur. The case relates to events since 1891 and the Governement on one pretext or the other wants to delay justice the the defendant. The Honourable Judge Justice Mittal rightly observed that the National Litigation policy was framed last year is only on papers and needs implementation.
There has also appeared in sections of press several times that of the above 3 crore cases pending in the courts, about 2/3rd are those in which the state/centre government is involved. When the government itself is not serious about its own cases it is very much likely that the National Litigation Polity is going to be a forgotten document shortly. If the Honourable Supreme Court of India and State High courts are serious about delivering timely justice to the people, it should clear the cases pending over decades with them.
