A case has been dismissed by supreme court 11 years back with the text as ''Technical delay condoned. The special leave petitions are dismissed''.
Prior to this, the petitioner had approached Karnataka High court 5 times and supreme court once.
The problem is as follows:
A certain caste in the Karnataka Scheduled Tribes list has become controversial because Karnataka authorities contend that the persons claiming to belong to that caste are not true STs. However, Census list proves that the claimants are the true persons whose caste name was included in the ST list in 1950. Since, this document (census document) has not been produced before courts, the authorities had it convenient to harass the claimants.
Hence, an advocate is needed to pursue this case who can defend the ST entry by taking recourse to the community name being classified as a forest and hill tribe in the Census.
